24/7 Market News- Intuitive Machines Awarded $4.82 Billion NASA Near Space Network Contract

DENVER, Colo., Sep 18, 2024 (247marketnews.com)- Intuitive Machines (Nasdaq: LUNR) reported that it was awarded a NASA Near Space Network (“NSN”) contract for communication and navigation services for missions in the near space region, which extends from Earth’s surface to beyond the Moon, with a maximum potential value of $4.82 billion.

The new Firm-Fixed-Price, Multiple Award, Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (“IDIQ”) Task Order contract has a five-year base period with an additional five-year option period.

Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines, stated, “This contract marks an inflection point in Intuitive Machines’ leadership in space communications and navigation.

“We’re pleased to partner with NASA, as one team, to support the Artemis campaign and endeavors to expand the lunar economy.”

Intuitive Machines will deploy lunar relay satellites and provide communication and navigation services as part of NASA’s Artemis campaign to establish a long-term presence on the Moon.
