DENVER, Colo., Jul 19, 2024 (247marketnews.com)- Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. (NYSE:HE) is trading higher following Bloomberg’s report that electric utility operator is “among the companies that have tentatively agreed to pay more than $4 billion to resolve hundreds of lawsuits over the wildfires that ripped through Maui last year, according to people familiar with the deal.”
The deal has yet to receive final approval, but would settle thousands of suits filed by homeowners and businesses against Hawaiian Electric.
